Father Alex was born in Murcia in southeastern Spain. He attended Law School at the University of Murcia. Afterward he served for three years in Spain’s military service. He then studied at the Faculty of Theology in northern Spain in Burgos and the University of Navarre. In 1988 he was ordained in Spain for the diocesan priesthood in the United States in the Metuchen Diocese in New Jersey at the invitation of the then Bishop, Theodore McCarrick.
Father Alex’s first assignment was at Our Lady of Mount Virgin in Middlesex. Other assignments followed at Sacred Heart, South Plainfield; St. Joseph’s in Bound Brook; Immaculate Conception in Clinton; Immaculate Conception, in Somerville. In June 2016 he was welcomed into Mary, Mother of God Parish in Hillsborough.
Father enjoys movies, music and travel, but most of all he has a love of nature exploring and hiking in the mountains, parks and seashore.
