As you are all aware, on or about Christmas eve, our mailbox was vandalized. All mail delivered or dropped off in our street mailbox was stolen. The police authority and postal general have all been notified. Please assume that any checks that have not cleared by now were most likely stolen and ripped up, the vandals were looking for cash. Since the incident we have upgraded our mailbox and installed a tamper-resistant mailbox with a key; hopefully this will deter any future vandalism.
