Holy Orders

"As he walked by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea for they were fishermen. And he said to them:  'Follow me, and  I will make you fishers of men. Immediately they left their nets and followed him' ".  Matthew 4:18-23

"And he went up into the hills, and called to him those whom he desired; and they came to him. And he appointed twelve, to be with him, and to be sent out to preach".  Mark 3:13-15

Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time. Thus, it is the sacrament of apostolic ministry. "You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek". Hebrews 7:17

It is a ministry of service to the people of God.

This ministry can be exercised as a priest or deacon in the diocese to which you belong, or as a Missionary priest or deacon to minister to God's people in any part of the world.

If you are receiving the call from God, to serve in his ministry please contact the Parish office to speak with one of our Priests or Deacons. You may also contact the Diocese of Metuchen about your calling. Vocations
